Southern California District Council of Laborers (SCDCL)

Affiliated with LIUNA – Laborers’ International Union of North America

The Southern California District Council of Laborers represents more than 36,500 union members across 12 affiliated local unions. Chartered by LIUNA, they unite and support laborers throughout Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico and West Texas through strong collective bargaining agreements, political advocacy, and workforce development.

Their members work on the front lines of the building trades, performing essential work in building construction, heavy highway construction, the tilt-up industry, energy and utility infrastructure, demolition, environmental remediation, concrete work, in movie studios and more.

Under the leadership of Business Manager Jon P. Preciado, the District Council lives by the motto “Organize or Die” which is a reflection of their ongoing commitment to building power for working people through organizing, solidarity, and action.

From skyscrapers and tunnels to roads, bridges and schools, their members build the infrastructure that improves lives and strengthens communities.
